The Yuletide Season is such a wonderful time of the year. Everything changes and it suddenly seems like there are more reasons to celebrate life. People tend to be much happier and more cheery during this period.
The same goes for Branson. Branson is a wonderful place to spend the holidays. The atmosphere is so festive, and the city so beautiful. All these elements combine to make the season a little bit more special.
Branson is transformed during the holidays. Christmas decorations are everywhere, and the city becomes a glittering wonderland of lights. In fact, they have a Branson Festival of Lights that visitors can drive through and enjoy.
There is another light display that visitors can drive through, and this is called The Trail of Lights. What’s remarkable about this attraction is that it is animated. As guests drive through the displays, they can see scenes with different themes. Each scene has its own holiday music. The trail ends at the Inspiration Tower. Guests can ride a glass elevator all the way to the top of the tower. From there, you can see the entire city, all the way to the Ozark Mountains.
Every year, Branson hosts an adoration parade and lighting ceremony. This is traditionally done at the beginning of December. During the day, there are a lot of activities that take place, one of which is caroling. All these lead to the parade of floats that happens at night time. Many bands participate in this event. There are special awards given to outstanding bands and floats belonging to different divisions. The highlight of the event is the lighting ceremony. The lighting ceremony is the lighting of a huge Nativity scene that is usually held on Mt. Branson.
The Silver Dollar City theme park, which is one of Branson’s top tourist destinations, is also decorated for Christmas. Their remarkable Christmas tree is five stories high. It is called the special-effects Christmas tree, because its lights, along with all the other lights in the theme park’s square twinkles and dances. They have a Gifts of Christmas Holiday Light Parade that goes around the theme park twice every evening. The production of A Dickens Christmas Carol is also one of the main attractions of Silver Dollar City during Christmas time.
The shows in Branson are also holiday-themed during this time. An example of this is The Andy Williams Christmas Show, in which the talented singer performs the some of the most well-loved Christmas songs.
