Ralph Foster Museum is hosting the annual White River Painting Exhibit & Sale from
12 Nov – 17 Dec ’09, at the Edwards Art Gallery. This is an event consistently organized by the Museum to honor the unique Ozark heritage and to manifest the museum’s continued mission of providing rich learning experiences about the Ozark culture through arts.
The deadline to submit this year’s entry is
November 11, 2009 and the artists are expected to present their personal views on the rich heritage of the Ozarks and what they consider important about it. The artists can choose from any of the themes relating to the environment, beauty of the region, fishing, historical events, family, agriculture, tourism, architecture, entertainment, community, education or transportation.
The participating artists are expected to submit their work which has been created over the past two years. The maximum number of paintings to be submitted is three per participant. The entries should reach the Ralph Foster Museum from November 2 to November 11, 2009 between 9 am to 4 pm. The museum stays close on Sundays. The entry fee is $5.00 for one painting, $7.50 for two paintings, and $10.00 for three paintings.
Mr. Aaron W. Jones, Public Tour Program Coordinator the Crystal Bridges Museum of American at Bentonville, Arkansas, has been assigned as this year's juror.
